MixHers HerTime Reviews

Hertime unfortunately isn't much good

Horribly Underdosed, There's Better Options Than Her Time.

Generally, we tend to not be quite this negative when it comes to powder products, that's because it typically does allow for better dosing of key ingredients. Yet somehow Mixhers have decided to include less of the active ingredients than you'd expect in a single capsule of better PMS supplements. Therefor our HerTime review is going to be pretty bleak.

If that wasn't enough, their supposedly revolutionary line of drinks mostly contain ingredients that are poorly backed, if at all. About the only revolutionary thing is how they managed to get such a small amount of functional ingredients into a powder. And there are a host of options for better ingredients. About the only thing we can say that's positive is there's no artificial colors or flavors, but considering the fact that a capsule supplement wouldn't have that problem that's not really inspiring. Oh and they're sugar free, but the same applies. Then we have the fact that HerTime hide their under dosing with a proprietary blend, hoping people won't notice that it's mathematically impossible for them to have enough.

Now, Ginseng is a pretty solid ingredient, but you need 1400mg of the stuff (and HerTime's whole blend of ingredients contains a combined total of 800mg active ingredients) meaning that we're not off to a good start. Dong Quai, the only other half decent ingredient in here suffers from the same issue. And yes, we can recommend a supplement with the correct dosages (Kittie PMS) - which we rated as the best PMS supplement of 2024.

So in short, no Mixhers Hertime is not worth the hype. Avoid.

Hertime Customer Reviews

So, we're obviously going to ignore the reviews on the mixhers website as these are easily curated, so the question is how to they fair on third party platforms like Amazon and Trustpilot. Now interestingly it doesn't do too badly in terms of Amazon reviews, not that it has a whole load of them, but it does average 4.3*, which looks alright, but scroll down to the written reviews and things start to get a bit more sketchy.

We've got some obvious placebo effect going on at best or fake reviews of HerTime at worst, with one of the relatively few written reviews implying that their daughter uses it only at that time of the month and that's simply not how these ingredients work, they need to be taken daily and build up.

Next up is negative HerTime reviews complaining about it causing weight gain or simply just tasting bad. Now, as an aside, I have tried it and it tastes fine. Nothing to really write home about, but nothing that's particularly bad either, it could be that they got a bad batch. This seems to be pretty much true of HerTime reddit reviews and Trust Pilot as well.

Hertime Formula

It is important to reiterate that the entire formula here is 800mg.

White Peony Root

Supposedly White Peony root has a balancing effect on hormones however, there's no direct evidence that it will improve PMS symptoms, human trials are limited and those that do exist suggest that an effective dose ranges from 3,000 to 6,000 mg per day for hormone balancing effects .

Chinese Licorice

Known for its adaptogenic properties, Chinese licorice is prized for its ability to support adrenal gland function, so there's actually something here, although there's more evidence to suggest it can help with optimal progesterone production and still not much in the way of human trials. There's some decent evidence that it can help soothe digestive issues, but that's not exactly the main reason people are buying HerTime, and 2,000 to 3,000 mg per day is the studied dose, so once again, we've got nothing useful here.

Ginseng

This herb is renowned for its potential to enhance energy levels, improve mental clarity and focus, and mitigate the effects of stress - all of which can be particularly beneficial for women struggling with fatigue, brain fog, and mood swings during their menstrual cycles. And there is ONE study that suggests it's functional at 300mg if you use a specific extract, however, this extract is quite expensive and based on the price of HerTime it's not viable. Plus, they would likely say that they used the patented ingredient if that was the case as it's a selling point. Meaning that what we have here would need to be dosed at 1400mg as mentioned in the intro.

Dong Quai Root

Dong Quai is a mixed ingredient anyway, whilst some studies suggest it can balance sex hormones, and help with extreme pms symptoms, the problem is it can make them worse. But, as you need 2000mg of them, we've got something else in here that isn't going to do anything at all.

Giant Kelp Leaf

Packed with essential nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and iron, giant kelp leaf is good for you, if you get 1200mg of it a day.... again we have the same issue. There is also the fact that they clearly haven't standardized any trace mineral in here, meaning there's probably nothing useful here either.

Is HerTime Safe For Women On Birth Control

HerTime is also safe for women who are on hormonal birth control. But, seeing as it's not actually very good, we can't recommend it.

Exploring the HerTime Product Range: A Closer Look

HerTime's product lineup is a diverse and well-curated selection, catering to a wide range of needs and preferences. Let's delve into the key offerings and understand how each one can contribute to your overall well-being.

HerHydration: Electrolyte-Powered Hydration

One of the hallmarks of HerTime's range is the HerHydration blend, a powerhouse of electrolytes designed to keep you hydrated and energized. Unlike many sports drinks that are laden with sugar and artificial sweeteners, HerHydration provides the essential minerals your body craves without the unwanted additives. This one is actually fine.

HerGreens: Another Mixhers Fail

For those days when your vegetable intake feels lacking, HerGreens tries to fill the nutritional gap, it fails miserably though. This blend combines a variety of greens, including spinach, kale, and spirulina, to deliver a concentrated dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Unfortunately it misses all of the best greens ingredients and under doses the ones it has, and Mixhers miss the mark again.

Conclusion: HerTime Review

Just because something has it's roots in traditional chinese medicine, doesn't mean it can't be scientific, and unfortunately we know what doses of these ingredients work, and Mixhers HerTime does what a lot of budget supplements do, and put functional ingredients in far too low doses. Sure it's sugar free, made in the USA and the mixhers cycle tracking app is pretty good, but everything else sucks.

It's not going to help with good ovarian health, and certainly not with extreme period symptoms, to be honest, it's not likely to do very much at all. If you're looking for something to actually help with hormone balance, then we recommend taking a look at Kittie like we mentioned earlier. And as for something to take just on your period, there's more evidence to suggest some dark chocolate would help you out....
