Morning Formula
Zinc - 15 MG
Zinc is put in weight loss pills to boost your metabolic rate, but it also reduces inflammation and aging, promotes growth, DNA synthesis, testosterone production, and the immune system, and improves blood clotting, brain functions, wound healing, and vision.
However, to produce optimal effects, 25 to 45 mg of zinc must be taken daily, making the 15 mg in Phen24 too little to be truly useful (1).
Manganese - 2 MG
The mineral manganese enhances your metabolic rate, regulates blood sugar levels, reduces inflammation, and even improves brain and nerve functions and bone growth.
The problem is, the recommended daily dose is 2.3 mg for men and 1.8 mg for women (2). This means the 2 mg in Phen24 is already too strong for women and will be too strong for men who get manganese anywhere else in their diet.
Copper - 1 MG
Copper is a mineral that reduces inflammation, boosts mineral absorption, and even enhances the health of your body and immune system. However, while it's vital, most people get enough a healthy diet, and there's no evidence that it's beneficial in dietary supplements (3).
Iodine - 150 MCG
Iodine is vital for healthy thyroid function, digestion, and cognition, but people in developed countries should get enough in their diet.
Studies suggest apparently healthy young adults shouldn't take iodine dietary supplements unless they're vegan and consume no iodised salt or seaweed (4). This makes its inclusion in Phen24 problematic for most people.
Caffeine - 150 MG
Caffeine is a potent stimulant that causes you to burn excess fat and boosts your resting metabolic rate, energy levels, focus, and exercise performance, while preventing fatigue, all of which are beneficial for losing weight.
Unfortunately, these effects only occur when at least 200 mg of caffeine is taken daily (5). As Phen24 contains just 150 mg, it isn't strong enough to be useful.
Guarana Extract - 100 MG
Guarana extract is widely used in fat burners as it contains more natural caffeine than coffee beans, so can boost energy levels and your metabolic rate.
The problem is, it's safe when taking a single dose of 75 mg or two doses of 50 mg daily (6). As Phen24 contains 100 mg of guarana extract, it's too powerful and likely to cause side effects.
L-Phenylalanine - 70 MG
L-phenylalanine is an amino acid found in meat and eggs that's used to treat the skin condition vitiligo. However, some supplements also use it to stimulate weight loss and combat things like ADHD, aging, chronic pain, and depression as well.
Not only have none of these claims been proven though, but l-phenylalanine is also linked to a range of severe side effects (7). This means its inclusion in Phen24 creates a huge amount of risk, with very little reward.
Cayenne Powder - 20 MG
Cayenne powder is a capsicum pepper extract known to help you lose weight by boosting your body's metabolism and preventing new body fat storage. It even relieves joint stresses and inflammation, reducing the risk of injury which could cause you to stop exercising.
The problem is, you must take at least 30 mg of cayenne pepper extract daily to see these effects (8). This means the 20 mg present in Phen24 is at least 50% too weak to be of use.
Night Formula
Ascorbic Acid - 80 MG
Ascorbic acid (vitamin c) is vital for the production of collagen and neurotransmitters. It's included in the night pills to promote the repair and recovery of muscles while you sleep.
This will maintain the health, flexibility, and mobility of joints, boost bone, muscle, and tooth strength, nutrient absorption, and immune functions, and even prevent diseases, ensuring you never miss workouts and your weight loss journey goes smoothly.
However, it's believed a dietary supplement must contain 2,000 mg of vitamin c to be of use. This means the 80 mg of ascorbic acid in Phen24 is far too weak to be effective (9).
Calcium D-Pantothenate - 10 MG
Calcium d-pantothenate is the calcium salt of vitamin b5. It boosts your resting metabolic rate, brain functions, and energy levels, all of which are beneficial for weight loss, while also improving your memory, autonomic nervous system, and neurotransmitter production (10).
The issue is the recommended daily dose is 5 mg. This means the 10 mg in Phen24 is far too strong and likely to cause side effects.
Pyridoxine HCL - 5 MG
Pyridoxine HCL (vitamin b6) controls over 140 enzyme reactions, including enhancing the body's metabolism to promote weight loss and boosting the immune system, to ensure you don't miss workouts.
Unfortunately, the recommended daily dose is 1.7 mg (11). This means the 5 mg in Phen24 is too strong and almost certain to cause adverse reactions.
Thiamine HCL - 4 MG
Thiamine HCL (vitamin b1) is vital for breaking down nutrients and promoting growth and development. The 4 mg in Phen24 is far greater than the daily recommended intake of 1.2 mg though, and almost certain to cause side effects (12).
Chromium - 120 MCG
Chromium enhances the body's insulin response, leading to better blood sugar and energy levels and nutrient absorption. It also boosts serotonin production, which aids sleep quality and cognitive functions, lowers appetite, repairs muscles, and prevents weight gain.
These effects are all beneficial for your weight loss efforts, but only occur when taking 1,000 mcg daily. With Phen24 containing 120 mcg, it isn't strong enough to be useful (13).
D-Biotin - 120 MCG
D-biotin (vitamin B7) is vital for carb, protein, and fat utilization, strengthens the hair, nails, and skin, and combats conditions like multiple sclerosis. However, the maximum daily dose of biotin is 100 mcg. This means the 120 mcg in Phen24 is too strong and could cause issues (14).
Molybdenum - 100 MCG
Molybdenum is a mineral that's vital for the functioning of enzymes throughout the body. However, studies show molybdenum deficiency is unheard of and there's no reason to use it as a dietary supplement, making its inclusion in Phen24 pointless (15).
Glucomannan - 1,000 MG
Glucomannan is a water-soluble fiber containing very few calories. It's a potent appetite suppressant as it expands in your gut, taking up space, preventing hunger pains, and allowing you to easily reduce your calorie intake and stick to your calorie deficit diet.
It also slows the rate food is released from your gut, giving it more time to be broken down and preventing body fat stores from being created (16).
Unfortunately, while the 1,000 mg in Phen24 will produce some results, it's far from optimal, and won't suppress appetite nearly as much as other supplements.
Griffonia Extract - 52 MG
Griffonia extract contains 5-HTP, an amino acid that boosts serotonin production, mood, fat loss, sleep quality, and relaxation. It also prevents anxiety and depression, and is as an appetite suppressant (17).
These effects are only seen when 200 mg of 5-HTP is taken daily though. As Phen24 has just 52 mg of griffonia extract and no pure 5-HTP, it'll have no effect.
Choline Bitartrate - 40 MG
Choline bitartrate offers various mental health benefits and reduces inflammation, both of which aid your exercise performance (18).
However, it's mainly put in diet pills due to claims it improves muscular contractions and physical performance. As there's no evidence supporting either of these claims, the benefits it offers the Phen24 fat loss pills will be extremely minimal.
Green Tea Extract - 40 MG
Green tea extract is a potent weight loss supplement that contains natural caffeine and a catechin called EGCG, which is an antioxidant.
Caffeine boosts your energy levels and metabolic rate, so you burn more calories. EGCG promotes fat metabolism, regulates blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, aids brain and heart functions, relieves stress, and helps with some illnesses (19).
The problem is, it's estimated 800 mg of green tea extract must be consumed daily to produce these effects. As Phen24 contains just 40 mg, it'll have no major effect, while even a minor boost to energy levels is counterproductive in the night pills.
Hops Extract - 25 MG
Hops extract is an antioxidant and mild sedative that's put in the night capsules to help with insomnia, anxiety, depression, stress levels, and tension, to produce a healthy sleep cycle.
Unfortunately, it can also increase your appetite, leading to an increased junk food intake, which is counterproductive for weight management (20).
