Vibrant Health Green Vibrance Ingredients
Cereal Grasses Blend (Includes Barley Grass Juice Powder & Oat Grass Juice Powder)
Certified organic cereals form the backbone of the Green Vibrance formula. The Cereal Grasses Blend includes barley grass leaf powder, barley grass juice powder, oat grass leaf powder, oat grass juice powder, wheat grass leaf powder, and wheat grass juice powder.
The blend starts off strong, as barley grass is a great ingredient that can promote fat loss, heart health, and optimal levels of blood sugar and cholesterol. Between the leaf and juice powders, it is also present is a reasonable dose.
Unfortunately, the oat grass and wheat grass powders are nowhere near as useful. With them taking up two thirds of the blend, it means this part of Green Vibrance only has one third of the potency it should.
Plant Based Micro Nutrition Blend
The Green Vibrance Plant Based Micro Nutrition blend uses spirulina powder, beet root juice powder, sunflower lecithin powder, parsley leaf & stem powder, zucchini fruit powder, carrot root powder, spinach leaf powder, broccoli and broccoli sprouts powder, kale leaf powder, and ascophyllum nodosum seaweed powder.
The story here is much like with the cereal grains. You have a few useful ingredients, like kale, beetroot, spirulina, and sunflower lecithin, but they are all present in very small doses and surrounded by fillers, limiting the amount of good they could have done if used properly.
Antioxidant Life Preservers Blend
The antioxidant life preservers blend features goji berries, strawberries, tomatoes, amla fruit powder, camu camu fruit powder, acerola fruit juice, turmeric root, ginkgo biloba, and d-alpha tocopherol acetate.
The berries, turmeric, and ginkgo biloba are all rich in antioxidants and can provide benefits like improving bone, brain, heart, and skin health, blood sugar, blood pressure, vision, and the immune system, reducing inflammation, and boosting energy and stamina (1).
Unfortunately, they make up less than half the blend, which is dominated by things that offer little to no real benefits, like tomato powder.
Immune Support Blend
The Immune Support blend features astragalus, larch arabinogalactans, and saccharomyces. Astragalus can improve heart health and reduce cholesterol, while both saccharomyces and larch arabinogalactans are believed to be probiotics (2).
However, with studies still ongoing and tiny doses included in Green Vibrance, there is no guarantee these ingredients are effective or there is enough of them present even if they were.
Adaptogens Blend
The Adaptogens blend in Green Vibrance is made of eleuthero root and holy basil extracts.
Holy basil has recently been shown to offer liver health benefits and be an effective adaptogen and antioxidant when at least 1,000 mg in taken per day (3).
Eleuthero root is also an adaptogen that is said to improve physical performance and reduce fatigue when doses of at least 300 mg are used (4).
Unfortunately, as both of these ingredients are present in insufficient doses and one hasn't even been proven to be of use, they are of little to no use.
Skeletal Support Blend
The Green Vibrance Skeletal Support blend includes calcium fructoborate, lichen oil powder, and cissus quadrangularis extract.
The calcium fructoborate provides 3 mg of boron. While this dose of boron is said to be sufficient, the effects of the nutrient are still not confirmed by most studies (5).
Cissus quadrangularis is also theorised to help with bone health, although far more study is required before this is conclusive. Even in the event that it is though, it is suggested that more than the amount present in Green Vibrance is required for it to be effective (6).
Lichen oil powder contains vitamin d3, which has been proven to improve bone health, while offering many other health benefits. Unfortunately, the 10 mg present is far below the recommended 50 mg dosage (7).
Fiber Blend
The fiber blend in Green Vibrance contains acacia gum fiber, apple fruit powder, flaxseed powder, and an inulin extract. The blend is unfortunately dominated by apple powder and acacia gum that are virtually worthless.
Inulin can improve gut health, nutrient absorption, and constipation symptoms, and potentially even blood sugar levels, but the 3 grams of inulin required to do this is far greater than the less than 400 mg present here (8).
Flaxseed is equally useful, as it is a great source of fiber that also contains omega 3 fatty acids and is able to help regulate blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels. Again though, the 480 mg present here is far below the 20 to 30 grams required (9).
Liver Support Blend
The Green Vibrance Liver Support blend contains burdock root, dandelion root, and silamarina milk thistle.
There are reports that dandelion extract can protect the pancreas, which in turn improves liver health, while burdock extract is said to protect the liver directly, although nothing has ever been proven for either (10).
Milk thistle has been proven to benefit liver health, although much higher doses are required than are present here (11). This means all of the ingredients present in this blend are either unproven or insufficient.
Enzymes & Tonics Blend
The enzymes and tonics blend contains cayenne pepper powder and ginger root powder, as well as the digestive enzymes amylase, cellulase, invertase, lipase, and protease.
Digestive enzymes are useful for clearing the digestive tract, improving digestive health, and optimising your body's use of nutrients.
Unfortunately, Green Vibrance is missing 3 of the main digestive enzymes; lactase, maltase and sucrase, includes one with limited use in invertase, and has a very low dosage at just 10 mg. This means they will be able to offer very few of their normal benefits (12).
Both cayenne pepper and ginger root can also be useful for digestion, as well as weight loss and helping with the absorption of the other ingredients in the supplement. Yet again they are present in such small doses they simply won't be effective though.
Probiotics Blend
The probiotics blend contains numerous varieties of Bifidobacterium and lactobacillus, as well as streptococcus thermophilus (13). With 25 billion CFU (colony forming units) present, this is a rare case where both the dose and ingredients in Green Vibrance match optimal levels.
