As you may have guessed from the strapline, six star testosterone boosters are pretty much a disaster from start to finish. This supplement is not a good testosterone booster and we really don't recommend it at all. It's not going to do you any harm, like the very worst supplements we've reviewed, but it's not going to do you any good either. It fails to get even the cheapest and simplest ingredient dosages correct such as not including a full 10mg (the tested dose) of boron, which for some reason they use boron citrate which only provides 5mg of the supplement that requires. This is pretty much exemplary of the whole product. Then there's the inclusion of what look simply like a random grab bag of ingredients like calcium and sodium which aren't related to testosterone boosting. Six Star Testosterone Booster could have opted for zinc, magnesium, vitamin d or a host of other relatively cheap ingredients and we'd have been able to at least say that it would work somewhat.
About the only thing positive that we have to say about the product is that it's relatively cheaply priced as testosterone boosters go, but that's not exactly great when the product is this poor. We recommend you take a different supplement with ingredients actually designed to raise testosterone levels.
What Does Six Star Testosterone Booster Claim To Do?
They claim to boost testosterone levels in just 7 days, and to justify this they use boron as the example ingredient, however in the study they're referring to 10mg was the dosage and all of the best testosterone booster supplements include boron, so this is nothing special. Not off to a great start for the six star testosterone booster.
They claim one of their ingredients (they don't specify which, but we suspect it is Gingko) aided cortisol ratio and will improve athletic performance. However, the actually study here [1] used 160mg, not the 2.7mg in the six star testosterone booster.
Six Star Testosterone Booster Ingredients
Calcium 50mg - The recommend minimum recommended daily intake of calcium is 2500mg, we'll let you figure out whether or not this dosage would do anything at all, let along help raise testosterone production.
Sodium 5mg - The only studies which show sodium can boost testosterone production have been done on rats, as of yet there is no human clinical study and the vast majority of animal studies do not transfer to humans.
Rhodiola Extract 386mg - Rhodiola rosea can lower cortisol ratio, which can in turn have some benefits on testosterone production. [2] However, by itself it doesn't seem to do much to raise active free testosterone in males who aren't stressed. There have been some studies which have shown a correlation with testosterone, but more human clinical research is required to make this a good ingredient. At the moment it is a good ingredient for brain health supplements and stress though. Still it doesn't really belong in this six star product.
Ginkgo Extract 2.7mg - Gingko has only been shown to raise test levels in rats, as for muscle growth benefits and athletic performance it does have some use, however, considering this is likely the key ingredient a lot of six stars claims rest on, having the dosage at 2.7mg seems like a joke as the studies which back its use were with 160mg supplements.
Boron Citrate 100mg - This adds up to a whopping 5mg of the effective ingredient boron. Boron has been shown to be effective at raising test levels [3], particularly free testosterone, but it's usually dosed at 10mg and is in pretty much every decent testosterone supplement. As such this isn't a positive for our six star review, other than they nearly got something right.
Six Star Testosterone Booster Review Conclusion
Will six star testosterone booster boost your body's natural testosterone production, maybe, just a little bit, if the lower dosage of boron works for you. But, is it a good testosterone booster, certainly not. The claims made by the supplement are ambitious at best and we don't think it will have any notable impacts in regards to helping you improve athletic performance. Compared to better testosterone boosters available on the market, almost anything would be a step up from six star testosterone booster.
