Phen24 is a really complicated supplement, it's more of a supplement stack than a simple fat loss pill, there's a few good ingredients in here, but, there's also an awful lot of filler, that isn't really going to do much to help, the night pills look a lot better than the day time part of the phen24 supplement. This is largely due to the inclusion of glucomannan, which swells up 50X larger in your stomach, helping you get to sleep without snacking. Beyond that the night pill isn't a terrible sleep supplement, it's just not going to do much beyond that as a weight loss supplement.
As for the daytime pill it has one of the ingredients we commonly see in the best weight loss aids, but just the one, and it's one of the least effective out of the few that actually work unfortunately.
Phen24 isn't a disaster of a supplement, it's just not a great option either, we'd recommend picking something off of our best weight loss aids list, or going with a single all round pill like hourglass fit, which has a better dosage of the most effective ingredients in Phen24 and the added benefit of 5htp which is the second most effective over the counter appetite suppressant after glucomannan.
So how will Phen24 help with Weight Loss?
By combining day and night time fat burner pills, Phen24 claims to be an all purpose dietary supplement by boosting your metabolic rate. According to the Phen24 website, your metabolic rate will be drastically reduced due to stress, as an over abundance of cortisol reduces your metabolic rate, as well as causing mood swings, weight gain, and reduced sleep quality amongst other things.
Does it help you lose weight?
Though there are some ingredients present that should help you lose weight, the relation between cortisol and your metabolic rate is overstated, as well as their product being a treatment for that. The truth is, if you're worried about your body's metabolism, then our recommendation would be to eat a healthy diet of lean protein, fruit and vegetables without skipping any meals, and building muscle with frequent exercise/strength training. If you're concerned about your cortisol levels and would like something to help with that, there's products more specifically designed to tackle those issues, and if you're feeling snackish for an unnecessary evening meal, something with a similar glucomannan content like Hourglass Fit would be a great choice to help suppress appetite and get you on a healthy sleep cycle without all the fluff.
Customers Phen24 Reviews
It's not particularly easy to find any verified customers reviews of Phen24, this is typically not a great sign. But the few reddit reviews we could find seemed middling. Minor positivity, but nothing too dramatic. If we're ignoring the clearly professional Phen24 before and after examples, like the one to the right.
Phen24 Ingredients
With both day and night pills, this will be a fairly longer breakdown than usual, so we're gonna turn ourselves into weight loss pills and trim the fat for you.
Day pill (fighter of the night pill!)
Zinc
During our research, we found that Zinc is unreliable for weight loss. Without a doubt an important aspect of a healthy diet, but with so many natural sources for it, it's likely you're actually getting enough out of your diet already. These measly 15mg are gonna be largely ineffectual to your weight loss journey.
Manganese
Manganese is a metal that is clinically proven to ensure and healthy and proper metabolic rate. Essentially speaking, the inclusion of this will help maintain your resting metabolic rate during a calorie deficit diet, but again it is highly likely you're already getting enough assuming you're eating healthy, as it's found in leafy vegetables, rice, black pepper, and even coffee and tea.
Copper
Copper is actually a surprisingly effective ingredient, helping to burn fat through improving the bodies process of utilising fat stores. 1mg does sound very low, but it's getting you what you need, as an adults recommended does is about 1.3/1.5mg.
Iodine
Helping for proper thyroid function, Iodine promotes fat metabolism by helping the body to release thyroid hormones to burn excess fat. That said, most fat loss pills don't bother with it's inclusion, as (what seems to be the running theme here?) it's found in common foods for most peoples diets.
Caffeine
This lil guy needs no introduction. The favourite part of many peoples mornings, caffeines affects on weight loss are known far and wide. Suppressing appetite whilst helping to boost energy levels, however, it's use in these weight loss pills is honestly completely overstated. As much as it has been clinically proven to improve your body's metabolism, these effects quickly wear off with an increased tolerance, so if you often drink even just one cup of coffee a day, or tea, or any other caffeine containing substance, you'll find that the 150mg in Phen 24 won't do much.
Guarana extract
Guarana extract was once thought to contain compounds specific to the tree, though later tests found that this was in fact just caffeine, so we can predict your energy levels will be similarly effected. That said, the only testing done that shows its effectiveness in weight loss were done alongside other supplements, so it's yet to be determined what effect was had specifically by the guarana extract.
L-Phenylalanine
Though its use is wide and many claim it it has weight loss capabilities, there's actually very little scientific studies done that show this. I've seen claims that it will help you lost weight by regulating dopamine, with no scientific backing beyond a study on obese dogs losing weight.
Night pills
Absorbic acid
Have you heard of vitamin c? Well ascorbic acid is Vitamin C 's older cousin from across town. Exactly the same in every way, but it sounds so much cooler don't you think? We're not gonna knock the advantages to the immune system maintaining healthy levels of Vitamin C, with it helping to manage blood circulation and blood pressure, so this is more of a case of: Do you have any vitamin C deficiencies? If yes, a weight loss supplement containing Ascorbic Acid would be a great choice. If not, then you won't be losing sleep without it.
Calcium D-Pantothenate
With some speculative claims that Pantothenic acid can help maintain healthy skin and has been used to treat particular skin related afflictions, we couldn't find any information or studies supporting it's ability to help you lose weight. There was one study that claimed it helped their patients with morning stiffness however, so we suppose it's use could help you if you're sluggish in the morning, but this should be taken with a grain of salt as it's just one study. It's hard to say if calcium D Pantothenate would have any meaningful affect on weight loss.
Pyridoxine HCL
Vitamin B6, a well known to effective weight loss tool. Vitamin B6 is known to stimulate your body's metabolism and helps our bodies natural protein and fat utilization by stimulating the thyroid, causing your body to burn fat for energy instead of storage. Also known to help improve peoples energy levels and mood regulation, there's a good reason you see "Vitamin B6 and B12" on the side of every energy drink.
Chromium
And of course we're right back in it with Chromium. Our research once again found that there are lots and lots of unsubstantiated claims that Chromium can do magic things such as "increase lean body mass"??? and "makes you burn calories without moving" but in reality, chromium is a trace element found in many foods that has been found to have very little effect on humans natural ability to lose weight. If you're hoping to have a positive effect on your weight loss efforts, let's hope there's more to these day and night capsules.
Thiamine HCL
Otherwise known as vitamin B1. Similar to our passage on Vitamin C, it's impossible to deny the need for this being included in the diet of any apparently healthy young adults due to it's role in glucose metabolism, but unless you find yourself deficient, it's very unlikely to impact your weight loss at all, and it is very available in plenty of foods.
D-Biotin
Another B-vitamin that is vital to metabolic function and yet is so abundantly available that supplementing it like this will likely have zero effect on weight loss, as it's likely you get enough from your diet that your body can't physically absorb and utilise anymore. If you have a deficiency, then of course this will help but you require so little compared to how much you probably get that it's inclusion here will not help you lose weight.
Molybdenum
Is this another essential part of everyone's diet that, although has very significant functions within the body, you almost definitely get enough to the point that supplementing it will have no effect on weight loss? Well gosh darn, would you look at that: it is! It seems impossible to escape at this point, but once again, the inclusion of this will likely not effect your ability to lose weight positively or negatively whatsoever.
Hops Extract
We couldn't find anything relating Hops extract with weight loss except for a single study that claimed it had prevented mice from gaining weight when fed a high fat diet. It's unlikely it has any affect on weight loss, and is likely included for it's ability to help people sleep, counteracting the negative effect the caffeine contained in the green tea on ones sleep quality.
Glucomannan:
Here we are, finally. Glucomannan, probably the most effective product on the market for appetite suppression and probably the only thing contained here to have more than a minimal effect on your ability to lose weight. Of course, the more full we feel, the less we eat, and we can all agree that a lower calorie intake will cause us to lose weight, as the science is so plainly simple: Burn more energy than you're bringing in, and you will be losing weight. Ideally you'd want something with around 1000 to 2000mg in dosage, and with the 2 night capsules recommended 15 minutes before dinner, they've got this spot on.
Phen24 Review Conclusion
To be frank, there's more fluff here than Build - A - Bear, and we just can't really recommend this one. When it comes to dietary supplements you need to make sure that you're getting exactly what you need, but the research that can come with this is daunting. We'd recommend hourglass fit instead, with a more effective dosage of Glucomannan for appetite suppression, instead of relying on hundreds of micro-dosed vitamins Hourglass Fit contains 5-HTP, which helps supply your brain with serotonin. This helps with mood regulation substantially which of course will help anyone keep with with a calorie deficient diet and combat food cravings more effectively.
