Teaburn is probably one of our least favorite, borderline effective weight loss products out right now and it seems that when you manage to find actual customer Teaburn reviews (not the ones getting a sales commission) they tend to agree with us. Whilst the tea burn supplement does contain a couple of ingredients that do slightly assist with weight loss, like most of it's drink based competition, it misses out on a couple of the over the counter weight loss ingredients, especially those that work best for appetite suppression.
Some of that is simply down to being a fluid based supplement, for example you cannot put glucomannan into a liquid. Glucomannan being the best over the counter appetite suppressant. Which works by absorbing liquid and expanding to 50X its size, creating a thick fibre gel (meaning 0 calories) with 2000mg in the stomach swelling to similar to about the size of a bagel. Which makes you feel more full, and we can all easily understand actually works.
In terms of the ingredients that are in tea burn, they're all OK, there's nothing in here that doesn't work at all, but at the same time, the doses aren't up to scratch to be within the effective range. And a lot of them are what we'd refer to as the "b tier" ingredients for a weight loss supplement. Will teaburn help you lose weight effectively? Perhaps it could give you a little extra, but barely.
Customers Tea Burn Reviews
It does take a fair bit of work to find real Tea Burn reviews, and they're pretty negative. Tracking through reddit tea burn reviews all we seemed to find was "it doesn't work". Which we can't say is massively surprising. There are some studies which suggest that drinking green tea will improve weight loss in conjunction with dieting, but Tea Burn powder doesn't direct it's users in the correct way. There are some mild appetite suppression effects of the ingredients and energy boosting, slightly improved sleep etc. All of these things do make dieting a little bit easier. However, Tea Burn claims that you will simply lose weight taking tea burn daily and that's highly unlikely to be the case, unless you were replacing a sugary soda with it, then it would almost definitely work. But, the reality is that even if you do drink tea burn daily, any effects that it or it's ingredients do have, would only be effective at slightly improving the effectiveness of a diet, rather than doing much of anything at all.
This is typically a trap with a lot of "thermogenic" focused weight loss supplements. That claim to help you burn fat. There are some ingredients that will help you do this, but realistically we're talking about adding 1 or 2% to your daily calorie burn. So sure, over the course of a year, 50 calories a day adds up to 4 lbs of fat, but that really isn't the results that products like Tea Burn are promising. And with Tea burns ingredients we're being optimistic with 50kcal a day.
There are some that can probably achieve about 100-200 calories a day, but they tend to be focused on boosting energy levels to increase NEAT (none exercise activity thermogenesis or the amount you move when not working out) as well as straight metabolism boosting. For context, your NEAT subconsciously drops when you diet or work out to compensate, so again we can see how that works. This includes stimulants like caffeine (in higher doses) and b vitamins. Tea burn doesn't do this, thus doesn't live up to it's fat burning promises.
Ingredients of Tea Burn
As we've mentioned, the ingredients in tea burn aren't bad, they do make their way into a lot of the better weight loss supplements out there, the catch is they tend to be in far more concentrated doses than what is possible in a dissolvable product.
Green Tea Extract - There's a few different studies that show green tea extract is pretty useful as a weight loss aid, but, its potency has been over egged. It does help you break down fat a little bit faster [1], and it does help you lose weight in that it helps you sleep better when in a calorie deficit, reduces cravings etc, but all of these impacts are relatively minor, despite what tea burn claim. Once again this is a useful, but B tier weight loss ingredient. But, of course it's in tea burn, being the backbone of the product.
Coffee Extract - Green coffee beans are once again a very common ingredient in fat burning supplements. There's nothing wrong with it, generally it's actually quite a good ingredient, raises metabolism slightly and seems to look pretty good in clinical trials, but the dosage is higher than what would be available in tea burn. [2]
L Carnitine - Tea burn contains a couple of amino acids, L Carnitine and L Theanine. Again these are pretty common in weight loss supplements, and they're not bad ingredients. The latter is more useful, but L Carnitine isn't terrible. Just that overall the research is mixed. With studies pretty much split down the middle, so perhaps not a great addition to the tea burn formula.
Caffeine - Caffeine should really be in every weight loss supplement, except those that market themselves as being caffeine free. But the reality is that along with glucomannan it's by far the most effective weight loss aid. We'd have probably given a kinder Tea Burn review if it had more. [3] Caffeine raises metabolic rate, suppresses appetite, and makes you move more, ultimately it's a triple threat for weight loss. But, most people don't want to say, just take a caffeine pill, which is probably as good as about 80% of the weight loss pills on the market now, and certainly better than those that rely on green tea and green coffee bean extract as their main ingredients.
Chromium - Chromium helps your body regulate blood sugar levels, and fat break down. Meaning that in theory you'll snack less and crave less. It's a relatively decent ingredient and we don't have any major complaints. However, it's quite common to get enough of this in your diet without needing to rely on the small amount that tea burn contains. [4]
L Theanine - The last of the tea burn ingredients L Theanine does get into almost every good weight loss supplement, again in higher doses. However, it is pretty good if you're looking to lose weight effectively. But, perhaps not in the way that most people may think. It largely helps by reducing cortisol, improving sleep and focus meaning like caffeine you move around more. It's got quite a few benefits, but does it do anything directly for weight loss? Well not particularly, it's really good for supplementing a diet and reducing the negative impacts even in lower dosages like in tea burn, but for stand alone effects, you need much more.
Forskolin: Derived from the plant Coleus forskohlii, forskolin activates an enzyme called adenylate cyclase, which promotes the breakdown of stored fat cells. By increasing levels of cyclic AMP (cAMP), forskolin helps release fat for energy, in theory aiding in weight loss. Unfortunately most of the human studies have shown this to not be effective even though it was effective in animals. Meaning it's not a good ingredient for Tea Burn.

TeaBurn Review Conclusion
Tea Burn's main failure is functionally the fact that it's a tea, well that and it hugely overpromises. Can it help assist you if you're on a healthy diet and are exercising, sure. And it's definitely better than having a soda. Unfortunately all of it's ingredients can be found in cheaper products with more effective doses and sensible promises. So, there really is no justification for the tea burn cost.
We don't recommend that you spend your money on tea burn powder. There are no risks if you consume tea burn regularly, and it won't likely do you any harm. But the benefits of tea burn do not stack up to it's claims. Get a capsule based supplement instead.
