Swolverine Greens + Reds Ingredients
Organic Wheat Grass - 2,500 MG
Organic wheat grass is sourced from the new sprouts that grow on the wheat plant. It's known to be low in calories and high in natural vitamins and minerals, including vitamin c and b vitamins, as well as various antioxidants.
There are also studies suggesting wheat grass offers benefits like reducing cholesterol, oxidative stress, inflammation, the risk of heart disease, and arthritis symptoms, and even helping to fight some diseases.
The problem is, more evidence is needed to conclusively prove any of these claims. This means it's very possible it won't produce the desired effect and makes basing the Swolverine Greens + Reds formula around wheat grass a real gamble (1).
Organic Spirulina Powder - 2,500 MG
Organic spirulina powder is produced from a blue green algae that's rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, protein, vitamins, and minerals, and capable of offering numerous health benefits.
These include improving your metabolism, weight, and body composition, suppressing your appetite, fighting free radicals and preventing oxidative damage, reducing inflammation, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels, and boosting the health of your heart.
The problem is, you'll only experience these benefits when consuming 8 grams of spirulina each day (2). As the quantity of organic spirulina powder in Swolverine Greens + Reds is 32 times smaller than this, it's unlikely to offer any benefits at all.
Organic Chlorella Powder - 2,000 MG
Organic chlorella powder Chlorella is made from a chlorophyte green algae rich in numerous antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It's particularly good for boosting energy levels, as it does so more effectively than sugar, without causing any spikes in your blood.
It also offers other benefits, like helping to regulate blood sugar levels and cholesterol, fight diseases and illnesses, detoxify the body, and improve your overall health and wellbeing (3).
While there's no optimal dose of chlorella currently set, this appears to be a rare instance where Swolverine Greens + Reds actually contains a suitable dose of an effective ingredient.
Organic Beet Root - 1,000 MG
Organic beet root extract is produced by dehydrating beets and turning them into powder.
Extremely high in vitamin c, folate, nitrate, and potassium, it can reduce inflammation, blood pressure, and cholesterol, boost eye, heart, and immune health, increase energy and stamina, protect your blood, liver, and various other organs, and protect against certain illnesses (4).
The 1,000 mg of beet root in Swolverine Greens + Reds is above the minimum recommended dosage, so it should produce some benefits. However, it's still far below what you'll find in dedicated supplements, like Red Tonik, making it far less effective.
Chia Seed Powder - 1,000 MG
Organic chia seeds are often added to a person's daily diet as they contain both dietary fibre and fatty acids. Studies suggest they can improve gut health, protect the bowel, prevent hunger, and promote weight loss.
Unfortunately, most of these benefits have never been proven, while the mild appetite suppressing and gut health benefits they can have are only seen when consuming 25 grams per day (5). This means their presence in Swolverine Greens + Reds will be of no use at all.
Organic Turmeric Powder - 500 MG
Organic turmeric powder is extracted from the roots of a plant in the ginger family known as curcuma longa. It's been used as a spice and herbal remedy in Asia for centuries due, to the presence of curcumin, a proven anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
It has the power to neutralise free radicals, preventing and reducing oxidative damage and inflammation, to help protect our cartilage, joints, and organs (6).
The problem is, you must take 1,500 mg of curcumin each day to produce these effects. As Swolverine Greens + Reds contains just a third of this at 500 mg per serving, it's unlikely to be of any benefit.
Bilberry Fruit 4:1 (Vaccinium Myrtillus) - 500 MG
Bilberries, also known as European blueberries, are among the most nutrient dense berries. Their extract is used in supplements as the fruit is rich in polyphenols, which are said to enhance fat metabolism and the health of your brain, eyes, heart, and joints (7).
There are two issues with its inclusion though. Not only is more study needed to prove any of its benefits, but even the studies that support its use say 900 mg must be taken each day to see effects. This means the 500 mg present in Swolverine Greens + Reds will be of no use.
Blueberry Juice Powder - 500 MG
Blueberries are known for their powerful antioxidant capabilities, but they're rich in anthocyanins too.
Between them, these compounds improve heart and brain health, nerve growth, and cognitive functions, prevent mental decline, inflammation, and liver fat build up, and protect the liver.
Unfortunately, at least 5.5 grams of blueberry extract must be consumed each day to see these benefits (8). This means the dose present in Swolverine Greens + Reds is far below optimal and won't do anything.
Pomegranate Fruit Powder - 500 MG
Pomegranate juice and pomegranate powder are both often put in red and green superfood powders, due to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits the fruit itself may offer.
It's said to treat high blood pressure and cholesterol levels and prevent heart disease and some other medical conditions. However, there's not enough evidence to conclusively prove any of these claims, so its inclusion in Swolverine Greens and Reds may be of no use (9).
Black Pepper Extract (BioPerine) - 5 MG
BioPerine is a concentrated black pepper extract that's often put in supplements as it's a bioavailability enhancer. It can therefore improve the absorption of the nutrients in the product, making them more effective (10).
Unfortunately, the 5 mg present in Swolverine Greens and Reds is just a quarter of the required 20 mg daily dose, meaning it won't produce this effect.
