It's OK

ew things right, and whilst it's not going to top our best sleep supplements list any time soon, you can definitely do a lot worse. It's got a good dosage of GABA and Melatonin which are the backbone of a good natural sleep aid.
Relaxium Sleep may do OK with the valerian root assuming it's patented valerest formula which mixes it with hops contains very little hops, but, the real problem is that most of the other ingredients in Relaxium are either ineffective or in far too low dosages to work. Ashwagandha for example is quite a good sleep aid and has huge benefits to reducing stress which is a leading cause of insomnia. But, instead of putting in a functional dose, they include the ineffective passionflower and too little chamomile extract to do anything.
That said, the GABA, Melatonin and L-Tryptophan should be enough to back up Relaxium Sleep claims that it will improve sleep quality and help you fall asleep quickly as these ingredients are pretty well backed or that. There's just much cheaper options available that do the same thing, or supplements in Relaxium's price bracket which give you those ingredients, plus the correct dosages of Ashwagandha and a host of other actually functional inclusions. (RestAgain being our number one rated sleep aid).
Customers reviews of Relaxium Sleep are OK, which is what we'd expect from a product like relaxium which doesn't overpromise, it just overprices.
All in all Relaxium sleep is fine. But there's much better sleep supplements available. We generally recommend RestAgain which is similar but properly dosed.
Customers Relaxium Sleep Reviews
We actually expected that Relaxium Sleep customer reviews would be a little better than they are, a few people actually claimed it made their sleep worse. The overall average of reiews for Relaxium on Amazon were in the middle with there being slightly more 5 star than 1 star reviews.
All in all it seems like their high 3 to low 4 star rating is legitimate and not flooded with spam of fake reviews. Relaxium isn't a scam, it just could be a lot better.
Is Relaxium A Scam?
We wouldn't say relaxium is a scam, it contains melatonin which is actually perscribed in some places for insomnia, so it definitely has ingredients that are known to work. It's just overpriced for what it is and a lot of the ingredients could be better.
Is Relaxium Safe?
Relaxium is safe and most people shouldn't have any serious issues with melatonin based supplements. It is produced in the USA in factories that should comply with the FDA regulations. And at time of writing there are no FDA warnings about Relaxium. There have been some class actions around the overhyped advertising however.
Relaxium Sleep Ingredients
L-Tryptophan 500mg - L Tryptophan is part of your bodies natural process for creating melatonin which is required for your body to know it's time to go to sleep. It's also a precursor for serotonin, which again plays a part in your sleep quality. It's been trialled for insomnia, with reasonable success and there's also some studies that suggest it's beneficial for depression which can in turn lead to insomnia making it a solid inclusion for a natural sleep aid. It's normally dosed at between 100-500mg so Relaxium goes for the high end here, so that's fine, but it could've been lower to make room to have one of the other ingredients in a functional dose.
Valerest 228.9mg - The problem with this blend is that there's no need for it to be mixed together. At best it's a gimmick, at worst it's being used to cheap out on valerian root which is a lot more expensive than hops. (Valerest is Valerian Root and Hops together). If we're being generous well assume that they've included a functional dose of valerian 200mg and the rest is hops, which doesn't actually help with sleep quality unless it's dosed in grams not milligrams. In theory Relaxium Sleep has got the right dose of valerian root for it's sleep benefits so we won't dock points from our Relaxium Sleep Review here.
Ashwagandha 125mg - Ashwagandha is great for stress and a solid ingredient for sleep aids, unfortunately it would need to be dosed at 300mg as a minimum (again we'll mention RestAgain who get this right) or ideally 400mg. It's been shown in double blind trials to reduce cortisol build up, help people fall asleep faster and promote deep sleep. It can cause mild nausea for some people (relatively uncommon), but considering how with it can promote sleep quality this is a reasonable trade off. Relaxium almost got this right, but this is one of the most disappointing ingredients in Relaxium sleep.
GABA 100mg - GABA regulates the activity in the brain, particularly the activity that promotes relaxation and helps purge cortisol (the stress hormone). Unsurprisingly as a result of this, it helps you get to sleep. It's also none drowsy through the day so it's a very popular ingredient in sleep aids. Relaxium sleep doses it at the low end. It has been shown to be mildly effective at 100mg, although generally it's better dosed at 200mg, once again, we'll nod to RestAgain who do it correctly. You may be seeing a trend. GABA has also been studies to be useful at treating mild anxiety, improving focus during the day and improving migraines, which makes it a good ingredient in brain supplements as a whole. A good ingredient choice for Relaxium Sleep, but once again poor execution from the sleep health supplement.
Melatonin 5mg - Melatonin is a staple of natural sleep aids. It is the human brains natural hormone that regulates your sleep cycle. This makes it the obvious choice, it kicks in pretty quickly helping you get to sleep within an hour in most cases and should be used to help get you back into healthy sleep patterns. 5mg is the middle range and it can be dosed at anything between 3-5mg although it's generally considered that 7-10 is best.
Chamomile extract 75mg - Chamomile can be effective, but it needs to be in dosages of grams, as such we don't recommend it's use in sleep pills as you'd need to take 4 large capsules for a single dose. It's also been shown to be more effective at improving sleep when taken as a tea. So there's some truth to the old fashioned cup of chamomile to help you sleep.
Passionflower 75mg - Unlike chamomile the old stories about passionflower tea have shown to have zero impact on improving sleep. Whilst this makes it into a lot of sleep aids there is functionally no evidence to back up Relaxium Sleep choosing to include this ingredient so it's not a positive point for our relaxium sleep reviews.
Relaxium Sleep Review Conclusion
Relaxium Sleep has some ok ideas and is better than some similar sleep aids. There's just better options on the market now, and when it came out it was pretty good. But, seeing as there's more detailed research on dosages from the last few years and Relaxium hasn't done anything to update their formula since then it's doesn't come out on top and hasn't done for some time. Unfortunately this is often the case with brands that have large television budgets is that they spend more on marketing than making a good product.
Relaxium Sleep is a 4/10, probably will help a lot of people fall asleep faster and there are definiteley worse sleep aids by big brands, but there's way better options from smaller companies like RestAgain.
