T-Drive Ingredients
Vitamin D (2500IU) - One of the best all-around supplements, vitamin D has a host of health benefits to its name, including boosting testosterone levels. Studies indicate that high doses are more effective, with 3000IU being a good benchmark. This means T-Drive is a little on the low side with its dose of vitamin D, but you will most likely experience the benefits nonetheless.
Niacin (10mg) - There is limited evidence connecting niacin to increased testosterone production. A study conducted in 2018 on rats found that a dose of 800mg per day did boost serum testosterone levels in the rat’s testes [1]. As yet there are no studies conducted on humans. Typically, niacin is used to increase energy levels, which means it might have some general benefits, but probably won’t boost your t levels.
Magnesium Oxide (200mg) - Magnesium is a decent ingredient for a testosterone booster. There are many studies that demonstrate a clear link between magnesium deficiency and low testosterone. There are also studies that show taking a magnesium supplement can even increase t levels in people without a deficiency. But there is a problem with the type of magnesium used in T-Drive: magnesium oxide. While magnesium oxide has more magnesium per unit volume, it is harder for the body to absorb than other types, such as glycinate. Given that there is little difference in cost between the different types of magnesium, it is surprising that T-Drive did not choose to include the more effective and absorbable version.
Zinc (15mg) - Another ingredient that is important when you have a deficiency. Low zinc levels equal low testosterone levels, that’s well established. There is some limited evidence suggesting zinc can increase free testosterone levels even in people who are not deficient.
Ashwagandha Root Extract (675mg) - The powerful health benefits of ashwagandha are now well-known and extensively studied. It is included in many of the best testosterone boosters and its inclusion in T-Drive is a good choice. Studies have shown that ashwagandha increases the amount of DHEA-S in the body, which is a component in the production of testosterone and can boost testosterone levels by up to 20%. The optimum dose is around 600mg, which means T-Drive contains the right amount to be effective.
Fenugreek Seed Extract (400mg) - Another solid ingredient for any testosterone booster, fenugreek has demonstrated impressive results in controlled studies. One study conducted on male participants recorded a boost in testosterone levels of just under 50% in almost all participants [2]. This study administered a 500mg daily supplement of fenugreek powder to achieve its impressive results. T-Drive includes 400mg, which is perhaps a little under-dosed but probably still quite effective.
Tribulus Herb Extract (300mg) - There is no evidence linking tribulus extract to testosterone production. The fact that testosterone boosters like T-Drive persist in including this ingredient is not clear to us. Some have proposed a link between tribulus and libido improvements, but this has not been proven either. A better ingredient could have been used here.
Coleus Forskohlii Root Extract (250mg) - Not commonly found in testosterone boosters, coleus forskohlii does have some limited evidence supporting it. However, the evidence points to its effectiveness at boosting testosterone, reducing fat, and increasing bone mass in obese men specifically. It is unknown whether these benefits extend to healthy men. The dose included in T-Drive is the exact amount used in the study on obese men, so T-Drive has got that right, but again, a better ingredient could have been used here [3].
Epimedium Herb Extract (200mg) - Also known as horny goat weed, epimedium is usually used for erectile dysfunction. Its effects on testosterone production in humans are not known. There are limited animal studies that suggest it can increase testosterone production in rats, but the results are too ambiguous to draw any serious conclusions or to extend those conclusions to humans. Not a great choice of ingredient for T-Drive.
Boron (10mg) - In a review of studies into the effects of boron on testosterone production titled, “Nothing Boring and Boron”, the authors concluded that it does indeed boost testosterone levels and significantly [4]. It’s a decent ingredient for T-Drive to include and is featured in a high enough dose to be effective.
