The Most Commonly Asked Questions About Prime Male.
Vitamin D3 - Vitamin d supplementation has been shown to raise testosterone production in deficient men (which accounts for around half of the US population) and raise athletic performance and strength in men who aren't deficient. This is essential for any testosterone booster. [1]
Vitamin K2 - K2 helps manage blood glucose levels and has been shown to increase testosterone production in males, around 10% of the population is deficient and the amount in Prime Male is more than adequate. [2]
Vitamin B6 - Vitamin b6 is essential for testosterone production, the amount in Prime Male is more than enough, and whilst few men have a deficiency taking extra does seem to boost energy levels, so there's an added benefit. It also takes up very little capsule space so it's a solid inclusion. [3]
Magnesium - The magnesium dose in Prime Male covers 24% of your daily dose, the reason this is useful is that whilst a minor magnesium deficiency is common, it is typically minor, with most people being within around 10%. Magnesium supplementation to resolve this can aid healthy testosterone levels, and some supplementation can raise it even in men without deficiency. [4] This means that Prime Male is largely just topping you off and it's a good amount to boost testosterone levels without wasting capsule space.
Zinc - Even a small zinc deficiency can tank testosterone production, as such it's another good inclusion for Prime Male as this alone will help a lot of men raise their testosterone levels. [5]
D Aspartic Acid - D Aspartic Acid is a strong inclusion for any supplement looking to booster testosterone levels. The only downside to it, is that you need quite a lot of it. Fortunately Prime Male does contain 1600mg, (this is 1.6 capsules full). It's particularly good for men over 40 or those with a sedentary work life. It's also been shown to benefit sperm quality and motility. There are some studies that suggest that even larger doses could be beneficial, however, 1.6 grams should be more than enough for most people. [6]
Korean Red Ginseng - Otherwise known as Panax Ginseng, and it dose have to be Panax Ginseng. The active ingredient ginsenocides are not found in the correct balance in the cheaper American Ginseng to raise testosterone production. However, in double blind clinical trials Ginseng has been shown to raise testosterone levels in healthy men and in men with low testosterone. [7]
Luteolin - Luteolin is particularly interesting, it doesn't boost testosterone levels, well not in the traditional sense, what it does is that it is a flavonoid that aids sex hormone binding globulin. In other words it helps stop estrogen from binding to testosterone. This means that you have more free testosterone in the male body. Free testosterone could be better described as functional testosterone because it's not being tied down by it's counterpart. [8]
Ashwagandha - This makes it into most of the best testosterone boosters and Prime Male is no exception. Ashwagandha has been shown to raise testosterone levels in health men, but also has a host of benefits that combat symptoms of low testosterone that can exacerbate the issue. For example it's particularly good at improving mood swings, aiding sleep and reducing cortisol build up. And poor sleep and cortisol build up can lower testosterone levels. This makes Ashwagndha a solid inclusion in Prime Male. And 300mg is a good dosage [9], especially for a first testosterone booster. You can take more, but this is a good amount to start with other testosterone boosters that have higher doses are better for after you've built up some tolerance to the extract.
Nettle Root Extract - Nettle root extract works in a similar way to luteolin, it doesn't boost testosterone instead it lowers estrogen production resulting in more free testosterone within the body. Probably the weakest inclusion in the Prime Male supplement, but still a standard inclusion in a lot of the best testosterone boosters. [10]
Bioperine - Bioperine is a black pepper extract that is generally good in all large combined supplements. [11] It doesn't directly do anything for testosterone levels, but it does help the body absorb all of the other ingredients in the Prime Male testosterone booster.
Boron - Boron is great for everything from joints through to test levels. It's also been shown to be effective at improving lean muscle mass for men training, although it was more effective for lesser trained body builders. [12]
All in all that's a lot of ingredients to be packed into just four Prime Male pills, they're all within effective dosages and should work for most men to increase serum testosterone levels, as to how much impact you get, it will depend on whether or not it's covering off any deficiencies, but even healthy men should be able to see a solid lift. We have no real prime male complaints, and our internal testing group had positive results via postal testosterone level kits.
