EASNA, Workplace Health and Wellness Trade Association, Announces the Election of New Officers, Directors

Arlington, VA, March 7, 2015—Members of the Employee Assistance Society of North America (EASNA) have elected new officers and members to its Board of Directors. The elections occurred during the trade association’s annual general meeting, which this year was held on April 23 at the Hilton in Clearwater Beach, Florida, USA, during the Institute, EASNA’s annual conference.

Following are the new officers, each elected to a two-year term:

  • President Judy Plotkin, Wellpoint Health Ltd., Canada;
  • Immediate Past President George Martin, CorpCare Associates, Inc., USA;
  • Vice President Kathy Greco Carlton, Beacon Health Options, USA;
  • Treasurer Patrick Gagne, CBC/Radio-Canada;
  • Secretary Sharon O’Brien, Ceridian Lifeworks, USA, first term.

The members also elected Janet McClellan, FSEAP (Canada) to her first three-year term as a director.

EASNA’s directors are elected in equal numbers from Canada and the United States and allow for an international member.

Judy Plotkin, EASNA’s newly-elected President, stated “the board will next meet in October, when the directors will focus on creation of a new five-year strategic plan. We are very excited about the increased interest in workplace health programs that we are seeing on both sides of the boarder. EASNA will have a revitalized Institute next year where we will celebrate leadership in workplace mental health.”

As the employee assistance industry’s trade association, EASNA advances the competitive excellence of its members by fostering best practices, research, education, and advocacy in behavioral health and wellness that impacts workplace performance.
